Taylor Grothe

Taylor Grothe writes adult and young adult horror, horror romance, and dark fantasy, and brings their adult debut, Lethal Kiss, to the Salt Lake Book Festival. Something ravenous lurks below the marble floors of Preston University, where new hire Marcella keeps her meals discreet and her secrets closer, and where ambitious professor Lacie will do anything to make tenure, even as bodies start dropping around her. Grothe calls it a blood-soaked love story of rage, revenge, and belonging, a sapphic horror romance that’s as grotesque as it is beautiful.

Grothe holds a nonfiction MFA from Fairfield University, where they served as the graduate Assistant Managing Editor of Brevity. Their short work appears in Titan Books’ These Dreaming Spires, Brevity’s craft blog, Haven Speculative, and Shortwave Magazine, and they bring a scholar’s background in medieval literature and Nordic saga to the monsters they build on the page.

Grothe lives in New England with three cats, two kids, and their spouse, and is also the author of Hollow. Join them at the Salt Lake Book Festival for a conversation on desire with teeth, and what horror and romance owe each other.
